Ingredients

1 (15.25 oz) package of chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)

1 (3.9 oz) package of instant chocolate pudding mix

2 cups milk

1 (8 oz) container of whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed

1 cup gummy worms

1/2 cup of spooky edible decorations (like candy eyes, sprinkles, or gummy spiders)

Optional: plastic cups or small terra-cotta pots for serving

Instructions

Crumb the Cookies: Place the chocolate sandwich cookies in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin until fine crumbs form. Alternatively, you can use a food processor for smoother crumbs.

Make the Pudding: In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk for about 2 minutes, or until it thickens. Set aside to let it fully set for about 5 minutes.

Fold in the Whipped Topping: Gently fold the whipped topping into the thickened pudding mixture until combined. This will create a light and fluffy filling for your dirt cups.

Layer the Cups: In your chosen cups or pots, start by adding a layer of the chocolate pudding mixture to the bottom. Follow with a layer of the chocolate cookie crumbs. Repeat the layers until the cups are filled, ending with a final layer of cookie crumbs.

Decorate for Halloween: Top the final layer of cookie crumbs with gummy worms, placing them so they appear to be crawling out of the dirt. Sprinkle some spooky edible decorations on top, like candy eyes or gummy spiders, to enhance the Halloween theme.

Chill and Serve: Cover the cups with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld together and the dessert to chill. Serve cold and enjoy the spooky delight!
