For the Spicy Shrimp:

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tsp chili powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tbsp fresh lime juice

For the Avocado Crema:

1 ripe avocado

1/2 cup Greek yogurt or sour cream

1-2 tbsp lime juice (to taste)

Salt to taste

1 small garlic clove, minced

Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)

For the Tacos:

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 cup shredded cabbage (green or red)

1 cup diced tomatoes (or pico de gallo)

1/2 cup crumbled feta or cotija cheese

Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, chili powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the shrimp and toss until fully coated. Drizzle with lime juice and set aside to marinate for about 15 minutes.

Make the Avocado Crema: While the shrimp marinates, scoop the avocado into a blender or food processor. Add Greek yogurt (or sour cream), lime juice, minced garlic, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust lime juice and salt as needed. Set aside.

Cook the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the marinated shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook!

Warm the Tortillas: In a separate dry skillet or on an open flame, warm the tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until soft and pliable.

Assemble the Tacos: Lay a warm tortilla on a plate. Add a generous portion of shredded cabbage, followed by the spicy shrimp, a dollop of avocado crema, diced tomatoes, and a sprinkle of feta or cotija cheese.

Garnish and Serve: Garnish the tacos with fresh cilantro if desired, and serve with lime wedges on the side for extra zest.
