Ingredients

12 oz linguine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)

1/2 cup dry white wine (like Sauvignon Blanc)

Juice of 1 lemon

Zest of 1 lemon

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta:

    - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

      Prepare the Shrimp:

        - In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.

          - Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.

            Add Wine and Shrimp:

              - Pour in the white wine, stirring well to deglaze the pan. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly reduced.

                - Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

                  Combine Ingredients:

                    - Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Mix until the butter is melted and well combined.

                      - Add the cooked linguine to the skillet, tossing gently to coat. If the dish appears dry, gradually add the reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until reaching your desired consistency.

                        Finish and Serve:

                          - Stir in the chopped parsley and season with additional salt and pepper if needed.

                            - Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and extra parsley. For an extra fresh touch, add a few basil leaves on top.
