Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 large egg

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/2 cup marinara sauce (for serving)

Olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, minced garlic, chopped onion, egg, oregano, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined but do not overmix to keep the meatballs tender.

Shape the Meatballs: Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs that are about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a tray or plate.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat a splash of olive oil over medium heat. Ensure the oil is hot enough to sizzle when you add the meatballs.

Cook the Meatballs: Carefully add the meatballs to the skillet (do this in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding) and cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until they are nicely browned and cooked through. You should see an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Serve with Sauce: Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Meanwhile, warm the marinara sauce in the skillet for extra flavor. Serve the meatballs on a platter topped with the marinara sauce, and garnish with additional parsley or Parmesan if desired.

Enjoy: These savory turkey meatballs can be served as a main dish with pasta, in a sub roll as a meatball sandwich, or as a tasty appetizer at your next gathering!
