Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

1 cup bell peppers, sliced (red or yellow)

1 cup snap peas, trimmed

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 teaspoon sesame oil

2 cups cooked jasmine or basmati rice

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat the beef. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Set aside.

Cook the Broccoli: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until they turn bright green and are tender-crisp. Remove to a plate and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Beef: In the same skillet, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes without stirring to sear the beef. Then stir-fry for another 2 minutes until cooked through. Push the beef to one side of the pan.

Add Vegetables: Add the sliced bell peppers, snap peas, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the skillet. Stir-fry everything together for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

Combine: Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and vegetables. Toss everything together until well coated and heated through, about 1-2 minutes more.

Serve: Spoon the stir-fry mixture over a bed of cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
