1 lb (450g) ground beef

1 cup long-grain rice

2 tablespoons paprika (smoked or sweet, based on preference)

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 bell pepper (red or green), diced

2 cups beef broth

1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon ground cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Cook the Rice: Begin by cooking the rice according to the package instructions. Set aside once done.

    Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, sautéing until they become translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

      Brown the Beef: Increase the heat slightly and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until well browned, breaking it apart as it cooks, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

        Spice it Up: Stir in the paprika, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the spices to bloom and infuse the meat.

          Add Liquid Ingredients: Pour in the beef broth and undrained diced tomatoes. Stir well to combine everything, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
