Ingredients

1 cup fresh lime juice (about 6-8 limes)

1 cup granulated sugar

2 cups water

2 cups ice cubes

1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, packed

Lime slices and mint sprigs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Make the Limeade Base: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with the sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar completely dissolves. This will create a simple syrup. Once dissolved, remove from heat and let it cool.

Extract Lime Juice: While the syrup cools, juice the limes to measure out 1 cup of fresh lime juice. Remove any seeds, but you can leave some pulp for added texture.

Blend Ingredients: In a blender, combine the cooled simple syrup, fresh lime juice, 2 cups of ice cubes, and the fresh mint leaves. Blend until you achieve a slushy consistency. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little more water to help it blend smoothly.

Taste and Adjust: Give your slushie a taste. If you prefer it sweeter, you can add a bit more sugar or simple syrup. If you like it tangier, add more lime juice.

Serve: Pour the limeade slushie into tall glasses. Use a spoon to stir if needed. Garnish with lime slices and a sprig of fresh mint for an extra touch.

Enjoy: Serve immediately for the best texture, and enjoy your refreshing treat!
