Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 tsp salt

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped

1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves

1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)

1/2 tsp garlic powder (for filling)

Cracked black pepper to taste

Cooking spray or additional butter for greasing

Instructions

Activate Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Prepare Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Once the yeast mixture is ready, add it to the flour mixture along with melted butter and the egg. Stir until a dough forms.

Knead Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Make Herb Filling: In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, parsley, garlic powder, grated Parmesan cheese, and black pepper until well combined.

Roll Out Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll it into a rectangular shape about 1/4-inch thick.

Spread Filling: Evenly spread the herb and garlic filling over the rolled-out dough, ensuring to cover all corners.

Form Swirls: Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.

Prepare Baking Pan: Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper. Place the roll slices cut side up in the dish, leaving space between each roll to allow for rising.

Second Rise: Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes in a warm area until slightly puffed.

Preheat Oven: While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake: Once risen, bake the rolls in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly in the pan. Enjoy warm, straight from the oven!
