Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup diced green chilies (canned or fresh)

1/4 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp cumin

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt

1 egg (for wash)

1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional for topping)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced green chilies, garlic powder, cumin, black pepper, and salt. Mix until the ingredients are well incorporated.

Roll Out Crescent Dough: Open the can of crescent roll dough and carefully unroll it. Starting from the thicker end of each triangle, spread about 1-2 tablespoons of the cheese and chili mixture onto each triangle.

Shape Rolls: Roll each triangle starting from the thicker end towards the pointed end, ensuring that the filling is enclosed within. Place the rolled crescent on the prepared baking sheet with the tip facing down to prevent it from unrolling.

Egg Wash: In a small bowl, whisk the egg until well beaten. Brush the tops of the rolled crescents with the egg wash to give them a golden color when baked. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds over the top for added texture and flavor.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and puffed up.

Cool & Serve: Once baked, remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes on a wire rack. Serve warm, and enjoy the spicy cheesy goodness!
