Ingredients

1 lb (450g) frozen meatballs (beef or turkey)

2 cups marinara sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

2 cups cooked pasta (penne, rotini, or bowtie)

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a kick)

Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Assemble the Ingredients: In a large baking dish (9x13 inches), add the frozen meatballs. Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the meatballs, making sure they are well coated.

Mix in the Pasta: Spread the cooked pasta on top of the meatballs and sauce. Gently stir to combine everything together.

Add the Ricotta: Dollop the ricotta cheese over the pasta mixture in spoonfuls, ensuring it’s distributed as evenly as possible. This will create delicious pockets of creamy cheese.

Season It Up: Sprinkle the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and black pepper over the top.

Cheesy Topping: Finally, generously sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top of the casserole.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Let It Rest: Once done, take the casserole out of the oven and let it sit for about 5 minutes before serving. This will help the layers set a bit.

Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired, cut into portions, and serve hot!
