Ingredients

8 ounces fettuccine or linguine pasta

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken or vegetable broth

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Zest of 1 lemon (optional)

Juice of 1/2 lemon

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine or linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Sauté Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Sauté until the shrimp turns pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium, and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Add Cream and Broth: Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer.

Thicken the Sauce: Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, adjust with the reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.

Combine Everything: Add the sautéed shrimp back into the skillet along with the cooked pasta. Toss everything together to coat the pasta in the creamy garlic sauce. Squeeze in the lemon juice and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon zest (if using). Serve immediately while hot. Enjoy your delicious Creamy Garlic Shrimp Pasta!
