Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)

4 tablespoons butter, divided

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 lemon, zested and juiced

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (or fresh herbs like thyme and oregano)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper on both sides. This helps the skin crisp up nicely during cooking.

Sear the Salmon: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Once the butter is hot and bubbling, add the salmon fillets skin-side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes without moving them, then carefully flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until cooked through and golden brown. Transfer the salmon to a plate and cover to keep warm.

Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Create the Creamy Sauce: Stir in the heavy cream, lemon juice, lemon zest, Dijon mustard, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently, and let the sauce thicken slightly, about 3-5 minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings with salt and pepper as needed.

Combine Salmon and Sauce: Return the salmon fillets to the skillet, spooning the creamy sauce over the tops. Let them cook together for an additional minute to absorb the flavors.

Serve: Plate the salmon on individual dishes, generously drizzling with the garlic butter sauce. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side for extra zest.
