Ingredients

1 large loaf of ciabatta or French bread

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 cup fresh mozzarella, sliced

2 large ripe tomatoes, sliced

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

2 tablespoons balsamic glaze

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional: 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes for a kick

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.

Slice the Bread: Cut the ciabatta or French bread in half lengthwise, exposing the soft interior.

Spread the Garlic Butter: Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over both halves of the bread, ensuring even coverage.

Layer the Toppings: Place the sliced mozzarella and tomatoes evenly over the garlic buttered bread. Sprinkle with chopped fresh basil leaves and if desired, the red pepper flakes for added spice.

Bake: Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Drizzle with Balsamic: Once out of the oven, drizzle the balsamic glaze over the hot, cheesy bread.

Serve: Slice into pieces, serve warm, and enjoy your delicious Caprese garlic bread as an appetizer or side dish.
