Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 fresh jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp cumin

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Burger buns

Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, extra jalapeños, and your favorite sauce

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped jalapeño, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and cumin. If you choose to add cilantro, mix it in now.

Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape them into patties, about 1 inch thick. Ensure they are slightly larger than the size of your buns as they will shrink while baking.

Bake the Patties: Place the patties on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 165°F (74°C) and the burgers are golden brown on the outside.

Toast the Buns (Optional): While the burgers are baking, if desired, you can toast the burger buns in a skillet or oven until golden brown for additional flavor and crunch.

Assemble the Burgers: Once the turkey patties are done, place each patty on a bun and add your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato slices, avocado, or extra jalapeños for added heat. Feel free to drizzle on your preferred sauce as well.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the burgers immediately with a side of crispy fries or a fresh salad. Enjoy the delicious spicy flavor and cheesy goodness!
