For the Dough:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon active dry yeast

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup warm milk (about 110°F/43°C)

1 large egg

For the Filling:

2 medium apples, peeled and diced (preferably Granny Smith)

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

For the Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Prepare the Dough:

    - In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

      - In a separate large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and ground cinnamon.

        - Add the melted butter and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients. Then, add the egg. Mix until the dough comes together.

          - Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

            - Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

              Prepare the Filling:

                - In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, lemon juice, and melted butter. Mix well and set aside.

                  Assemble the Rolls:

                    - Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it into a rectangle (approximately 12 x 18 inches).

                      - Spread the apple mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

                        - Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seams to seal.

                          - Cut the roll into 12 equal pieces and place them into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

                            Second Rise:
