Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian seasoned)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, finely chopped (oil-packed for extra flavor)

1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped (or 1 tsp dried basil)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a kick)

Olive oil spray (for the air fryer)

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef (or turkey), breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, fresh basil, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until fully combined using your hands or a spatula.

Form the Meatballs: Once the mixture is well combined, use your hands to form small meatballs, approximately 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. You should be able to make about 20 meatballs.

Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. This step ensures that the meatballs start cooking immediately when added.

Air Fry the Meatballs: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray to prevent sticking. Place the meatballs in a single layer in the basket, making sure they are not touching (you may need to do this in batches). Spray the tops of the meatballs with a light layer of olive oil spray.

Cooking Time: Air fry the meatballs at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time for even browning. The meatballs should be golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C).

Serve and Enjoy: Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the air fryer. Serve them hot with spaghetti, on a sub roll with marinara sauce, or as a delicious appetizer with toothpicks. Optionally, garnish with extra basil or Parmesan cheese.
