Ingredients

2 large apples (preferably Honeycrisp or Fuji)

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon sugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier option)

1 teaspoon lemon juice

A pinch of salt

Instructions

Prep the Apples: Wash the apples thoroughly. Core them, but you can leave the peel on for added nutrition and flavor. Slice them thinly, about 1/8 inch thick, using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife. Ensure all slices are uniform for even cooking.

Toss the Slices: In a large mixing bowl, combine the apple slices with lemon juice, salt, and sugar. Gently toss until the apple slices are evenly coated.

Add Cinnamon: Sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the apple mixture and toss again until all slices are well coated with the mixture.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for about 3-5 minutes. Preheating ensures that your chips cook evenly and become crispy.

Arrange the Apple Slices: Lay the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overlapping to ensure they crisp up nicely. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Air Fry the Chips: Cook the apple slices in the air fryer for 15-20 minutes. Shake the basket halfway through the cooking time to promote even crisping. Keep an eye on them, as cooking times may vary based on the thickness of the slices and the specific air fryer model.

Cool Down: Once they are done and golden brown, remove the chips from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack for about 10 minutes. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.

Serve: Enjoy your crispy apple cinnamon chips as a healthy snack or a delightful garnish for desserts. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
