Salt, to taste

Water, as needed for consistency

Instructions

In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, and a pinch of salt.

Pulse the ingredients until they begin to break down, then scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula.

Gradually add water (1 tablespoon at a time) while mixing until the hummus reaches your desired creaminess.

Taste the hummus and adjust the salt and lemon juice if needed, blending again to combine.

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. For a decorative touch, make a small well in the center and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with paprika or garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
